Pomegranate Cherry Detox & Udon

So yesterday’s snack consisted of an Urban Detox drink and Udon Soup. While searching in the store one night late with Chris we found these soups that looked good, with great stats. Annie Chuns All Natural Soups and Entrees. Their foods are all natural, no msg or preservatives. We grabbed some Udon, Miso and a peanut ginger one(that looked good, was not good at all in the nutrition facts, but again, looked good!). The peanut ginger one which was eaten one night for dinner, in my opinion was inedible. I thought it was pretty disgusting and the smell that filled the house after cooking it, well…. let’s change the subject.

However, the Udon and Miso Soups were really good. Just another snack or option that’s actually good for you. The drink was pretty yummy too, only I don’t think pomegranate and cherry are a good marriage of flavors. (at least with this brand.) The drink contained prickly pear extract which is known for boosting the immune system, preventing oxidative stress, and is supposed to speed up the recovery process after workouts aiding in your  anti-inflammatory systems. The drink also contained N-acetyl cysteine which they state as “a ‘smog scrubbing’ antioxidant with various benefits such as adding the lungs and sinuses and assisting the livers many processes.”

Approximate cost drink: $1.50

Approximate cost for the soup: Local Grocer was $3.50!

But, locally, I saw them at Trader Joes for like $1.50 and Fresh Market for $1!!!

About inpursuitofrealfood

I am a real health conscious food lover always in pursuit of real, great food! My journey began way back around 2000 when I realized it was time to grow up and eat better. Fast food was not cutting it and staples I grew up on such as burgers and spagetti were getting old. I also began trying a new diet experimenting with what I ate and how I felt as far as energy levels and keeping my skin clear. Since then it has been a rewarding journey in the kitchen trying new fruits and vegetables and tons of fantastic new recipes.
