Sushi in November?

First, before I forget, today was another 4+ mile run with my husband again. I hope he keeps it up! 🙂 I forgot he has a cellphone with a running app now, so 4.35 miles in the park to be exact. It was a good run in the cold! Lots of running this past week, I finally understand now what people mean when they say they have “tired legs”. I no longer have breathing problems or lung issues. That was the main challenge I had with running, that’s gone. Now it’s just, how far can my legs and knees take me? I guess with my increasing distance I finally understand. Now back to sushi.

Yes. I know. Strange. It was. I thought I would make sushi one last time this year before winter hits. We kinda sorta had a craving for it and a had a package of nori I didn’t want to throw out or let sit til May 2012?! My husband loved it and wolfed it down, but halfway into it, I had to step away. It just wasn’t right, cold sushi (even though the past several days have been very warm here!) in the fall?! Sushi for dinner when there are gold, purple, burgundy and orange leaves on the ground?! haha! Maybe out to dinner, but I’m through with sushi until next summer! Plus, it doesn’t help when you’re not in the mood to make it. It takes some work and as soon as I began I wanted to quit. But I finished the entire process and ate it! Chris actually made a quick sauce too, since he’s into sauces on sushi. It was a mix of hot sauce, hoisen and soy. The sushi was made from: nori, sushi rice, romaine, cucumber, onion, avocado, mango sauce, sesame seeds, shrimp, soybeans, salmon and sauce.

About inpursuitofrealfood

I am a real health conscious food lover always in pursuit of real, great food! My journey began way back around 2000 when I realized it was time to grow up and eat better. Fast food was not cutting it and staples I grew up on such as burgers and spagetti were getting old. I also began trying a new diet experimenting with what I ate and how I felt as far as energy levels and keeping my skin clear. Since then it has been a rewarding journey in the kitchen trying new fruits and vegetables and tons of fantastic new recipes.
